Mr. Butler is the Chairman of the Corporex Companies. Mr. Butler is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to Corporex Capital and is the Chairman of the investment committee.
Since 1965, Mr. Butler has been the driving force behind the growth of the Corporex Companies, from a one-man construction shop to diversified real estate company with more than $1 billion of real estate assets. From its humble beginnings as the W.P. Butler Construction Company, Corporex has grown into a diversified, vertically-integrated real estate firm comprising Corporex Development and Construction Management, Commonwealth Hotels, Five Seasons Sports Clubs, Corporex Realty and Investment and Corporex Capital. Additionally, Mr. Butler sponsored the formation of Eagle Hospitality Properties Trust where he was Chairman of the Board from inception in 2004 through the sale of the company in 2007.
Mr. Butler is dedicated to community service and fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. He founded The Butler Foundation and Life Learning Center, which provide community services in Northern Kentucky. Presently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. Additionally, Mr. Butler serves on the Board of Trustees for the Fine Arts Fund.
Mr. Butler has been actively involved in the acquisition, development, construction and financing of major real estate properties for over 40 years. Mr. Butler is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
